WHEN: Friday, February 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
WHERE: Fullerton DMV, 909 W Valencia Dr #2106, Fullerton, CA 92832
ORANGE COUNTY, CA – State Assemblyman Phillip Chen will hold a press conference on Friday, February 7th at the Fullerton DMV to discuss his bill, Assembly Bill 2045, which will allow a person applying for a driver’s license an opportunity to retake their photograph if they are not happy with it.
“This bill is common sense and common courtesy,” said State Assemblyman Phillip Chen. “Too often we have heard horror stories of individuals that have taken bad driver’s license photos with their eyes closed or not simply not looking their best. This bill will allow an individual to take a photo they are comfortable and happy with.”
AB 2045 would allow a person applying for a driver’s license to request up to three photographs be taken and select the photograph used on their license.
It would establish a voluntary donation up to $5 for each additional photo.
The additional revenue from the voluntary donations would be used to support driver education and training programs, specifically on the dangers of driving under the influence of marijuana.
“AB 2045 is good policy that also helps generate revenue to raise awareness on the dangers of driving under the influence of marijuana,” said Chen. “It’s a win-win for everyone.” | |
